ປະສິດທິພາບຂອງການໃຊ້ພາສາລາວໃນການສອນວິຊາໄວຍາກອນພາສາອັງກິດ

Abstract

ຈຸດປະສົງຂອງການຄົ້ນຄ້ວາຄັ້ງນີ້ແມ່ນເພື່ອ: 1. ສຶກສາການໃຊ້ພາສາລາວໃນການສອນວິຊາໄວຍາກອນພາສາອັງກິດເລື້ອຍໆສໍ່າໃດ. 2. ເພື່ອສໍາຫລວດປະຕິກິລິຍາຂອງບັນດາອາຈານ ແລະ ນັກສຶກສາຕໍ່ກັບການໃຊ້ພາສາລາວໃນການສອນວິຊາໄວຍາກອນພາສາອັງກິດ. 3. ເພື່ອເຫັນໄດ້ເຖິງຜົນສໍາເລັດຂອງນັກສຶກສາໃນວິຊາໄວຍາກອນພາຍຫລັງທີ່ໃຊ້ພາສາທີ່ແຕກຕ່າງກັນໃນການສອນ.

ກຸ່ມຕົວຢ່າງມີທັງໝົດ 109 ຄົນ, ໃນນັ້ນ 33 ຄົນແມ່ນອາຈານໃນພາກວິຊາພາສາອັງກິດ, ຄະນະອັກສອນ ສາດ, ມະຫາວິທະຍາໄລແຫ່ງຊາດ (ມຊ). ສ່ວນເຫລຶອນັ້ນແມ່ນນັກສຶກສາປີ 2 ລະບົບພິເສດ. ເຄື່ອງມືການຄົ້ນຄ້ວາແມ່ນໃຊ້ແບບສອບຖາມ, ການກວດກາ, ການສັງເກດ ແລະການບັນທຶກວີດີໂອໃນສົກຮຽນ 2009-2010.

This study was conducted with the following objectives: 1. To investigate the frequent use of Lao language (L1) in English grammar. 2. To survey the reactions of teachers and students towards the use of Lao in their English classes. 3. To see the students’ grammar achievement after being treated with different languages.

109 participants were selected, 33 of whom were teachers teaching at the Department of English, Faculty of Letters, National University of Laos (NUOL) and the rests were the students from the second year in Special Course. Test, questionnaires, observation and video-taping were the main tools for collecting data for this project.

As the results, the study primarily revealed that Lao as the learners’ mother tongue was often used in teaching English; accounting for 45% and those 49% of the responds sometimes used it. It also found that the most of respondents found the L1 was very necessary in helping them teach and learn English better; 90% of respondents indicated that using L1 could help students to understand the grammar structures clearly and easily; 67% of the teachers who taught grammar said that using L1 to explain English grammar points will help students to understand the lessons better than using English; 99% of respondents who were students said that it is necessary to use L1 to explain grammar points for them and 93% of them agreed that they could understand better and learn more comfortably when teachers use L1 to explain the grammar for them.
