Abstract

Salmonella spp. And Escherichia coli has a tendency to be more resistant to antibiotics and resistant to multiple types of antibiotics. The standard method for detecting microorganisms that are resistant to antibiotics were ISO 6579-1:2017 for Salmonella spp and EFSA 2008 for Escherichia coli. The objective of   research to Surveillance the use of antibiotics in chicken cecum the location were Phu Checha Charoen Village and Phu Chang Kham Po Village, Phra Bang Capital, Luang Prabang Province. The samples were cultivated through special medium for 4 days. to obtain pure colony a14 of antimicrobial resistance by using thermos scientific equipment: Sensititre Vizion.

The results found that: The prevalence of Escherichia coli from poultry was 96.53% (139/144), and Salmonella spp. was 36.81% (53/144). The highest rate of Escherichia coli resistance was found in Azithromycin, Ciprofloxacin, and Sulfamethoxazole (100%, 44/44) followed by Tetracycline (93.18%, 41/44), Ampicillin (88.64%, 39/44), Trimethoprim (47.73%, 21/44), Nalidixic acid (22.73%, 10/44), Gentamicin/Colistin (6.82%, 3/44), Tigecycline (4.55%, 2/44) and Cefotaxime (2.27%, 1/44) respectively.  The highest rate of Salmonella spp. resistance was found in Azithromycin and Sulfamethoxazole (100%, 38/38) followed by Tetracycline (60.53%, 23/38), Ciprofloxacin (47.37%, 18/38), Ampicillin (43.24%, 16/38), Nalidixic acid (34.21%, 13/38), Trimethoprim (31.58%, 12/38), Colistin (15.79%, 6/38), Gentamicin (7.89%, 3/38), Tigecycline and Cefotaxime (5.26%, 2/38) and the least is Ceftazidime (2.63%), 1/38) respectively. This information can be used to guide the use of antimicrobials in livestock farms and household farming.
