Abstract

Wastewater Treatment with a Simulated Batch Reactor System Combined with a Vertical Filter Column. In this study, the sewage treatment of 4 villages, with restaurants, guest houses and hotels located along the banks of Seng River, District: Vang Vein, Province: Vientiane and wastewater from factories in the Savannakhet-Seno Special Economic Zone (SEZA) or SEZA Province: Savannakhet, by collecting wastewater samples from 3 points in Zone C. The two treated wastewaters are studied for chemical, physical and biological quality by measuring 26 parameters both before and after treatment, using a series of alternating flow reactors combined with vertical filter columns. Then see the treatment efficiency of the simulation series by studying variables such as: TSS, BOD5 and COD values. It was found that: TSS value of the water sample before treatment was in the range of 65±0.35-85.9±0.70 mg/L after treatment was 31.5±0.71-44.9±1.03mg/L and the dirty water from SEZA before treatment is in the range of 133,3±2,52-180,7±3,51 mg/L and after treatment is 32,9±0,42-39,1±0,56 mg/L respectively, The value of BOD5 before treatment is in the range of 25,4±0,95-31,1±0,87 mg/L and after treatment through the simulation set is in the range of 12,8±0,48-19,8±0,31 mg/L. BOD5 before treatment in the pond 114,5±0,49-126,3±2,05 mg/L after treatment found a decrease of 35±0,21-41,8±0,60 mg/L and COD value of pack water before treatment was 43±1,08-31,1 ±0.87 mg/L after treatment, it was found that the COD value decreased in the 18,6±0,50-39,3±1,06 mg/L respectively, the COD value of the wastewater in the B.S.N area was high in the 318,7±1,57-353 ,5±1,33 mg/L when treated using the simulation set, it was found that there was a decrease in the value of 70,83±0,65-80,17±0,65 mg/L respectively. Through the analysis of wastewater quality using the simulation set of alternating reactor tank with a vertical sand filter, it can really treat the quality of wastewater.

The efficiency of the model series of alternating bucket reactor together with the vertical filter column is found: the efficiency in treating the TSS value of both wastewaters is equal to 51.5 -78.4%, the efficiency in treating BOD5 is in the range 49.8 - 69.4% and the COD treatment efficiency is in the range 56.8 -77.9% respectively.
